Charlevoix Food Pantry Feeding the Hungry in the Local Community

The owner of Brown Automotive Group since 1970, William E. Schuiling oversees dealership operations throughout Virginia, including the north, Charlottesville, Virginia, Amherst, and Maryland. He also owns 61 dealerships. Apart from work, William Schuiling donates to the local animal rescue shelters and food banks, including the Charlevoix Food Pantry.

The Charlevoix Food Pantry was established in 1983, after a jumble sale at the First Congregational Church in Charlevoix. The organization assists the Charlevoix School district community with free meals.

The center offers the meals twice on Mondays and the first Thursday of every month in food boxes typically containing frozen proteins from the refrigeration units, fresh vegetables, fruits, dairy, and non-perishable items. The center solely depends on donations, contributions, and volunteers, with the primary food contributor being the Manna Food Project.

A Feeding America Food Bank Network partner, the Manna Food Project delivers meals to the food pantry for distribution to those in need. This includes the elderly, vulnerable families, and a kid food pack for the schools in the area.
