An accomplished executive in the field of retail automobile sales, William E Schuiling studied business at Albion College in Michigan and the University of Neuchatel in Switzerland before obtaining a bachelor of science in business from Michigan State University in East Lansing and a master of business administration from Wayne State University in Detroit. William Schuiling joined the Magruder family’s Brown Automotive Group in 1970 as a sales manager at the organization’s Brown Pontiac in Arlington, Virginia, and subsequently earned a promotion to become the dealership’s general manager.
Ultimately purchasing stock form the Magruder family, assumed ownership of the Brown Automotive Group, retaining the Brown name to capitalize on its positive public reputation. Mr. Schuiling went on to purchase additional dealerships and add them to the Brown Automotive Group portfolio. Today, the organization is the largest of its kind in the Mid-Atlantic region.
